That's just the truth. I hate thinking about what I'm eating. I hate having to stop eating before my eyes and stomach are finished. I hate thinking about the 23 calories I will cut from my diet if I have a little less of this or that. I hate stepping on the treadmill (even though after I'm done I feel great). I hate putting my tight clothes on and knowing I COULD just go buy bigger clothes.
I hate my scale. It reports that I have lost 2 pounds in 8 days. Or does it? I weigh myself every day at the same time (morning) after the same event (a shower). Down 2, up 1, up 1, down 2. I really have no idea what my weight is. I'd LIKE TO THINK I'm down 2. It may be a figment of my imagination.
Hate is a strong word. It is an appropriate verb to describe some nouns. It is an appropriate verb to describe the noun "diet" and the noun "scale." "Diet" can also be a verb, as in "I am dieting." I hate the word diet as a noun AND as a verb.
Can "diet" also be an adjective, a descriptive word? If it could be, I hate "diet" as an adjective.
What was the Lost Boys' advice to Rib (there's a slip) er, Robin Williams' Peter Pan in the movie Hook? Just think happy thoughts .......... cheese cake, pizza, buttery popcorn, Christmas cookies ..............
Yes, I'm feeling better now. But I can't eat any of those things ....
I hate diets.
