Foils and Boils

Say that 10 times fast!

Foils refers to last night's Survivor episode. In a tribe shake-up, Gary and Danni have been merged together. Gary is Gary Hogeboom, ex-QB for the Dallas Cowboys. Gary has been flying under the radar as Gary "Coleman" or some such foil, to aviod getting benched by his tribemates. Danni is a sports reporter in the Kansas City area. She recognized Gary in the first second of the show, but because they have been on separate tribes, he and she haven't had a face-to-face get-to-know-you ... until now. Can't wait to see what kind of deal he has to strike up with her to protect his anonymity!

Can't remember the name of the chick voted off last night ... ummmm ... nope, can't remember, and I'm not going to the trouble of looking it up. Good show last night, though, as the tribe shuffle came while two members of each tribe were off enjoying a picnic. When they came back to their respective camps -- surprise! -- new faces. Good plot twist. Next week I'll get serious about starting to pick a winner.

Boils refer to the football game this Saturday -- Iowa vs. the Purdue Boilermakers. I predicted last Friday before the Illinois game that Iowa would win that contest, and lose this one. That was before Purdue was drubbed again last week. They are reeling. They need a win as bad as Iowa.

Purdue is going to get a win. I hate picking against the Hawks, but I don't see them winning. Purdue always is a problem for Iowa because of their spread offense. Iowa's d-backs play 10 yards off the receivers and Purdue picks at the defense all afternoon. It's annoying to watch. We all know Norm Parker (Iowa's d coach) doesn't like to mix it up much.

So, this game is all about Iowa's offense, because Purdue is going to score. In the end, the Boils will win out, cause they're going to outscore the black and gold.
