Today's your birthday (na na na na na naaaaahhhhhh, na na)

You know the old Beatles tune ...

Will you still need me,
Will you still feed me,
When I'm 64?

I'm not yet 64, but I do turn 36 sometime today. I'm glad my wife still needs and feeds me. We'll see what the next 28 years brings. Just as much needin with a little less feedin would be great!

No, no big plans today. I little dinner at a local restaurant with Michelle and the kids, mom and dad. Then, some dessert at out place with my grandparents added. A few gifts, perhaps, and early to bed. Yep, a real wild and crazy night.

When do birthdays truly become routine? Is it 21, when you receive the right to drink (never mind that you receive the right to die in a war at 18, that's another subject)? Maybe it's the year after your first child is born, and their birthday becomes the more celebrated event.

Well, I trust that tomorrow, when I begin the first day of my 37th year, will be a great day. That is, if I can get out of bed, find my slippers, and avoid the scale.
