One More Week

At this time in a week, we'll be piling our belongings into the moving van. Our whole moving schedule shifted ahead by 10 days since our seller is going to be out of the house a little earlier than expected.

Here's a schedule of what's going on when:

Wednesday: pack van and move. It would be great to be done by noon, but it might take longer since we will have fewer bodies than on a weekend day.

Tuesday: closing takes place at 1 p.m. We plan to clean the carpets and move a few breakable items that day, including much of the kitchenware.

Monday: final walkthrough inspection at 2 p.m. and sign our selling papers.

Sunday: mostly church activities and whatever packing we can get done.

Saturday: Packing and hope to get to the dump to get rid of all the junk that isn't making the move.

Friday, Thursday, today: I'm working a pretty full week, so light packing in the evenings. Michelle has been doing most of the work (she "let" me do the garage.)

We've been in our current house for 6 years. That is our longest time anywhere. Don't think it has really sunk in yet that we're moving, to be honest. I haven't yet pictured myself in the new family room, with a gas fireplace instead of wood.

We bought a treadmill last week and will go back and pick it up the Friday after Thanksgiving, install, and start working off turkey day calories. I recently have become concerned about my health, weight, lack of exercise, mobility, etc. I want to do what I can to not become one of those "statistics." I'm 35 ... not old, but not 25 either. I suppose it's time to become more intentional about my health. This day of reckoning had to come, right?
