Discerning What is Best

First, a quick comment on the Hawks. ...... enough said.

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking today about a Bible passage I read yesterday from the first chapter of Phillipians. Paul writes that he is praying for the Phillipians, (paraphrased) "that your love may abound in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may discern what is best ..."

As I explained to my kids, every day we make big and little decisions. We essentially choose between doing good, and doing bad. But if we assume that most decisions we make are "good," then I really appreciate what this verse says. What we really are faced with is choosing between what is good, what is better, and what is best.

God, give me the depth of insight that enables me to choose what is best.
