More than a Conqueror

Some days I just feel completely beat up and useless. The glass is half empty instead of half full. I have an itch to listen to country music ... well, no day is that bad.

Why is it so hard to remember that I am a conqueror?

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? .... No, in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death or life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, or any powers, nor height or depth, or anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This paragraph from Romans ch. 8 says just about everything I need to know about who I am. I am powerful, I am protected, I am loved, regardless of how I feel on any given day. In fact, my feelings can betray me because none of this is about me -- it's all about Jesus. I can not be separated from Him and hung out to dry because God's love through His Son is stronger than anything else.

So I have to remind myself always to take hold of this promise and believe it. I hope that you too have taken hold of this promise, and feel like a conqueror today.
